This past weekend, I attended the launch of Rachel by Rachel Roy Spring ’11 collection event at Nordstrom’s. The day was filled with fun, family and refreshments, which I enjoyed so much. I’m a big supporter of Rachel Roy and love that her collection of clothing is high fashion without breaking the bank. The event was “live” while customers passed by and danced to “Blow” by Ke$sha and “S&M” by Rihanna. 
The collection started off with a white form fitting structured shoulder blazer with sliver plated buttons. Blazers are fabulous and will bring out any outfit. Blazers are great for a day to night look as well.
The collection has a fabulous trench that I adore. The trench coat will go well with a nice pair of jeans and some pumps. 
I had the opportunity to purchase an item and receive a custom-made vanilla bean scented candle from Rachel Roy herself. The candle smelled beautiful and my new pair of linen cropped pants went well with my nude pumps and collar shirt. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my new attire.
Before I left The event, I spoke to Rachel Roy’s assistant designer Stephanie and she told me that
Working for Rachel has been such a great opportunity for me. She is so hands on, sweet and a humbling person. Unlike some designers, you may never see in the office at all. I see her just about everyday and if she’s busy she will call the office to check on staff to see if they needed anything.
She also mentioned that more pieces of the collection will be at Nordstrom’s in Early May
